Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Victory also means he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
The opponent saved four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
